Plan a cross-border document file without unnecessary certification
Certified translation may refer to a translator's declaration, attorney copy certification or governmental legalisation; these serve different purposes. A corporate banking file may follow different requirements from personal visa documents. Start with the receiving institution, issuing country and actual purpose rather than choosing a certification package from the destination country's name alone.
Get written requirements before sending originals
Ask whether originals, copies or digital documents are accepted, which language is required and how recent the document must be. Some institutions prescribe a certification format. Share those requirements for assessment first, but do not send originals, passports or confidential records through ordinary chat.
Match the translation to the working records
Use name spellings from the recipient's reference records and check former names, dates, stamps, annotations and page counts. Errors in the source must be resolved with its issuer, not silently corrected in translation. A clear translation assists the reader but does not improve the source document's legal validity.
Notarial certification, legalisation and Apostille are different
Establish whether the task involves witnessing a signature, checking a copy or legalising an official's signature. Apostille eligibility requires checking issuing and receiving countries, effective dates and document scope through HCCH and the recipient. Do not assume all documents need embassy steps or that an attorney's stamp replaces every stage.

Can we use our own translation?
Some bodies accept a self-certified translation, but many cases require additional certification. We check the destination's requirements first so the whole set does not need redoing.
What must be done abroad before sending documents to Thailand?
Obtain the recipient requirements first, identifying the issuing country, document type, language and age. Check which translation, source certification, embassy, legalisation or Apostille stages apply; not every case requires every stage.
Is rush translation possible?
Translation can be expedited depending on volume, but certification depends on each authority's queue, so we do not promise completion dates for that stage.
